Bongi Sibeko, an extraordinary woman from Standerton with a heartbeat for children, decided to make a difference. Instead of choosing promotion she quite a promising teaching career to dedicate her life, resources and energy to the needs of poor and abandoned children.

She and her husband, Themba, acquired premises in Rooikoppen, what use to be the poorest, most crime stricken area in Sakhile, Standerton. She left her house in Standerton to live in a shack amongst the poorest of poor. It all started off as a small evangelical ministry, Ark of Salvation, to provide hope for the hopeless, food for the hungry and shelter for the homeless.

They started of by  providing food for 50 - 70 children per day and this number grew to 170 to date. They give themselves unconditionally to these kids and surrounding area and offer love, protection, guidance, advise, encouragement and hope to the community. A light is switched on in the dark! 

Hearts4Standerton partnered with them to build this project to it's full potential, helping to make their dream come true. The next phase of the vision is to build a well equiped Care Take Centre where the children that need help, can be protected from the heat and cold. A place where they can eat, learn and play in dignity. 

This dream is starting to unfold slowly but sure. The registration of the formal mission grade R school "Saving Grace Mission Pre-School" is just the beginning. Children does not only receive a nutritional meal per day but they are also equiped for grade 1.
